We absolutely loved the Cornmeal Crusted Crisp Fried Gulf Shrimp – cooked to perfection and packed with flavor. The Bourbon Butter Cake was also a standout, and we particularly enjoyed the ice cream that accompanied it.

While we enjoyed some of the dishes at C. Ellet’s Steakhouse, we found the steaks to be average for the price point. Additionally, the service left something to be desired, as we had to track down our server multiple times for basics like refills.

While we enjoyed the Cornmeal Crusted Crisp Fried Gulf Shrimp and the Bourbon Butter Cake, the average quality of the steaks, lackluster service, and high price point mean that we would not go back. Given the many other dining options available, we found the food quality to be underwhelming.

What was ordered

C. Ellet’s Steakhouse is a popular destination for steak lovers, but the highlight of our meal was the Cornmeal Crusted Crisp Fried Gulf Shrimp. Served with Red Remoulade, the shrimp was cooked to perfection and packed with flavor, making it the best item we had that evening.

Moving on to the steaks, we ordered the USDA Prime Delmonico Ribeye* 16oz, cooked to medium. While the steaks were decent, they were nothing out of the ordinary for the price point. However, the service left something to be desired. We had to track down our server multiple times for basics like refills, which detracted from the overall experience.

To finish the meal, we opted for the Bourbon Butter Cake, which was good but not outstanding. The ice cream, on the other hand, was exceptional and provided a satisfying end to the meal.

Overall, while C. Ellet’s Steakhouse has some standout dishes like the Cornmeal Crusted Crisp Fried Gulf Shrimp, the average steaks and lackluster service may not justify the high price point. However, the Bourbon Butter Cake and ice cream are worth a try.
